Nominating Instructions
Please read carefully. Late, incorrect or incomplete submissions will not be considered. You must complete both the entry form and the nomination answers.

Awards Nomination Guidelines
- Step 1: Identify an organization or individual you would like to nominate.
- Step 2: Answer the nomination questions (which can be found on the Description of Awards Page) formatted to the guidelines below.
- Step 3: Submit the entry form online along with your answers. To mail or fax a nomination, download an Acrobat version of the entry form(PDF, 1mb).
- Step 4: You may submit an organizational brochure if one is available; please send 4 copies.
- Executive Directors/Board Members may NOT nominate themselves for the Excellence in Leadership Award.
- All nominees must be, or work for, a member of the California Association of Nonprofits.
- If you are not sure whether the organization is a member, contact Monique Padia at (888) 427-5224 x 1016.
Submitting the Nomination
Applications may be submitted via mail, fax or online. The application and accompanying materials will not be considered confidential information.
Please format according to these guidelines:
- The name of the organization/individual and nomination category should appear in bold at the top of each page.
- Please restate the question when answering it.
- Submit no more that two single-sided 8.5 x 11 inch pages. Additional pages will not be considered.
- Text must be single-spaced with a minimum of one-inch margins on all sides.
- Font options are Times, Arial, or Palatino, 10-12 point minimum.
Timeline
- Deadline for applications: All entries must be postmarked by September 26, 2008
- Notification of award winners: Friday, October 10, 2008
- Award Ceremony at the 17th Annual CAN Conference in Los Angeles, October 22-23 2008.
* We ask that both award winners attend the ceremony.
