CHIPRA (Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009)
The Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) is a program designed to enroll uninsured children throughout the country. In California, this program is administered as part of the Health Insurance Premium Payment Program (HIPP). The California version covers not only qualifying children, but qualifying adults as well.
What Employers Need To Do:
♦ Annually provide all employees with a notice letting them know about the CHIPRA programs available in all participating states.
We also recommend including this notice in any initial enrollment materials presented to new employees.
